In hot water heating systems, in order to reduce the phenomenon of water hammer when the pump unexpectedly stops, a pressure relief bypass pipe with a check valve can be installed between the pressure pipe and the suction pipe of the circulating pump. When the circulating pump is running, the check valve is closed because the water pressure on the pump outlet side is higher than that on the suction side. When the pump suddenly stops, the pressure on the outlet side of the pump drops sharply, while the pressure on the suction side increases significantly. Under the action of this pressure difference, the water in the suction side pipe of the circulating pump pushes the check valve to the outlet side of the pump. The pipe network system reduces the pressure increase in the suction pipe network; Reduce and prevent water hammer hazards. The check valve installed on the pressure relief bypass pipe shall be a product with low resistance and flexible opening. The larger the diameter of pressure relief bypass pipe, the more obvious the effect of reducing water hammer. Economical pipe diameters can be determined by transient calculations based on specified pressure limits.


The check valve disc is the same as the stop valve except that it can be freely raised and lowered. The fluid pressure lifts the disc away from the seat sealing surface, and the backflow of the medium causes the disc to fall back onto the seat and cuts off the flow. Under service conditions, the valve disc can be an all-metal structure, or it can be in the form of a rubber pad or rubber ring mounted on the valve disc frame. Like the globe valve, the flow path of the fluid lift check valve is also narrow, the pressure drop of the micro-resistance slow closing check valve is greater than the pressure drop of the rotary check valve, and the flow of the rotary check valve is less restricted.

Pay attention to the safety of check valve performance


The sandwich check valve is a universal one-way fluid valve. It is lightweight, small in size and easy to install between flanges. The inside of the valve consists of two semi-circular springs and a plate-like surface. The spring is fixed to the valve body by pins to close the valve plate, then the fluid pressure opens the spring, deforming very quickly and protecting the pipe from water hammer damage.


Installation precautions:


When placing the pipe, be careful to ensure that the pass direction of the clamp check valve is consistent with the flow direction of the fluid. Install it in a vertical pipe. For horizontal pipes, place the clamp check valve vertically. Use a telescopic tube between the clamp check valve and the butterfly valve. Do not connect it directly to other valves within the operating range of the valve plate to avoid adding fittings and obstructions. Do not install the reducer in front of or behind the clamp check valve. When installing the clamp check valve near the elbow, be sure to leave enough room to discharge at least six times the valve diameter at the pump outlet to ensure that the butterfly plate is exposed to fluid.
